The Chato Murciano Grand Selection ham is naturally cured for more than 30 months in Yegen, La Alpujarra. The Chato Murciano breed, as its name indicates, is native to Murcia; it is a pig with a black coat and dark meat, as it comes from crosses with Iberian breeds. This breed is in danger of extinction, it is currently reared in semi-stabling and is fed on natural cereals and vegetables from the market garden, as was traditionally done. The excellent characteristics of its meat, together with a careful salting and curing process, make it a unique ham, you will be surprised by its special flavour.
